Greetings from the Law Quad

I hope you will join us in Ann Arbor this fall for Reunion, September 15–17, 2017. If you haven’t visited since the completion of our campus expansion and renovation, you will enjoy the opportunity to see how South Hall, the Robert B. Aikens Commons, and the Kirkland & Ellis Café match the existing splendor of the Quad. In addition, you’ll have the chance to tour the renovated Lawyers Club residences. When you are on campus, you also will see some changes currently in progress. We are in the process of updating the Law Quad, which will include new sidewalks and lighting. Because of these upgrades, we are securing a new tailgate venue. Details will be shared soon.

Of course, the highlight of Reunion will be the chance to reconnect with classmates, experience the excitement of a Football Saturday in Ann Arbor, and revisit old haunts. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories of your time here, learning how the Law School helped shape your life and career, and welcoming you home..

Mark D. West, Dean, Nippon Life Professor of Law

Interested alumni and students are asked to complete a short questionnaire about their background, career experiences, interests, and aspirations. The answers gathered from the survey will be compiled into information sheets that the alumni and students can exchange with one another. More than a business card, but shorter than a resume, these information sheets will allow you to stay connected to those you have met.

Want to participate? Please complete the survey at www.law.umich.edu/speedmentoring by Friday, September 8. Questions? Please email lawmentors@umich.edu.

A panel of clinical faculty, along with current students, will give brief overviews of several of the school’s eighteen different clinics, highlighting the important ways the program allows students to gain real-world experience, while also providing an important service to the community. Students and staff will discuss recent cases, how students interact with clients and give a tour of South Hall’s designated clinical space.
